This weekend HVNNVH and I did some heavy duty biking round the city..how could one not? It’s flat as fuck here and 75 degrees in January. On Friday we managed to catch the Circle Bar re-opening party and Quintron & Miss Pussycat at Siberia (-sick show, although with an alarmingly sweaty mosh pit) , and finished at Snake and Jake’s shortly before dawn. By 11 AM on Saturday we were down in the Bywater drinking bloody Marys and dancing/screaming/being generally loud in music videos (? unsure..whatever we were filming for..it was fun..”basement jam sessions”) for Rich Aucoin. Saturday night we hit up the Nurses/Mountain Goats show at Tipitina’s but only stayed for one MG song because..it was kinda slow :) And then we went to a party. Which wasn’t slow. Around 3 am we were so fucking tired of biking like 25 miles that we got a ride back to my apartment..weak? Smart? You decide. I then proceeded to sleep (heavily) for 12 hours. So there’s my weekend in a nutshell, and I haven’t even been back in New Orleans for a week yet..I FUCKING LOVE IT HERE!
