D-lo just sent this to me in reference to how people dance at Das Bunker. I can’t stop watching it. It’s so refreshing and hysterically inspiring to me. As opposed to, say, the shuffle? Still fun to watch, but not refreshing anymore

PS HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13 :)

Fortune Days - The Glitch Mob.

I’m about to see Glitch Mob tonight. If you can listen to this and not think that it would sound super sick live, then you and I probably have very little in common as far as musical tastes go! Have a good weekend everyone!

I like this article about Fuck Yeah Fest, which is comin’ up fast, and which isn’t my usual cup of tea, but which will be a damn good way to end the summer. You can download the playlist at the bottom of the article. It’s true that in California there is no rest for the wicked; I feel like this summer (but, in retrospect, so have the past few summers) has been music festival after music festival, party after party, non-stop noise, activity, and friends.. I can honestly say that I can’t think of a single moment these past four months where I was bored. School in New Orleans has started, but in 11 days I’ll be jetting off to Paris, France, to live for the next four months of my life. Life is an adventure, and Tumblr? A place to record it. Fuck yeah.

Billie Holiday (LightsoverLA remix) - Miike Snow

I saw Miike Snow last Wednesday at “the Music Box @ Fonda” so this is my horribly belated tribute to that.. I don’t listen to them much on my own time (I’m all about this song though) but they played an excellent live set. Word on the street was that the lightshow would be insaaaaane, so I spent the set waiting for a face-melting, brain-numbing, eye-scarring (..what? I’m getting carried away) light presentation, but instead kept thinking “When is it gonna start?” Then I found out that those passively waving blue lights WERE the insane lightshow.. Conclusion: People who enjoy pretty lights should go to more electronic shows and see some serious lightshows! I had a great time though, and the Music Box is definitely good in my book too because their smoking section is on the roof of the building.. gorgeous view of LA and lots of room to breathe (I do indeed see the irony here)

Saw Flying Lotus on Saturday night at the Echoplex with Tommy, Cole, Johnny Dangerous, and Maxwell Burton Rip, activated my Danger Soz Monsta Mode to pull a neat stunt with the Echoplex security in order to rescue our exiled homie, then proceeded to tear up up my tires and clutch driving around the hills in search of a party on the elusive ‘Clayton Avenue’ (Does anyone who lives in San Francisco drive stick shift? And are they absolutely fucking insane?)..

On Sunday night I went to see Starfucker with Alf, Meggles, and Mary at a tiny skeezy BYOB basement venue called Cozy Castle. Although Starfucker is a bit too indie-pop saccharine for my heavy bass preferring tastes, they put on an amazing live show..I literally couldn’t stop bouncing. We met up with Steve, D-lo, and Dan afterwards at the famous/notorious Pink’s Hot Dogs where I snacked on a turkey Guadalajara dog and took a picture for a cross-dresser and his three frat star looking friends.

All in all a pretty solid weekend with some of my best homies; the only cons would be Johnny Dangerous accidentally putting out on a cigarette on my face prior to the FlyLo show (got a gnarly scab near my right ear) and the fact that this 1500 piece puzzle I’ve been working on is continuing to fucking whoop my ass..stay tuned on that one, pictures of the eventual conquest will ensue
